Bihari Asmita Samman Samaroh is a platform for introducing and conferring the 'Bihari Asmita Samman' to those personalities whose contribution to Bihar in particular and nation in general is of paramount importance and who have always strived for safeguarding the state, irrespective of their caste,
credit or region. Bihari Asmita Samman Samaroh is organized once every year and on this occasion the personalities selected by the eminent persons of all walks and members of Bihari Asmita Samman Samiti, are awarded with 'Bihari Asmita Samman' by the dignitaries.
History salutes the contribution of Bihar in the battle of Independence. The great warrior Babu Veer Kunwar Singh, who fought the battle of 1857 and gave a befitting reply to the British at the ripe age of eighty was also from Bihar. The first president of India Deshratna Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Dr. Sachindanand Sinha, Shri Krishna Singh, Anugrah Babu, Rastrakavi Ramdhari Singh 'Dinkar', Gopal Singh 'Nepali', R.C. Pd. Singh, Rambriksha 'Benipuri', Baba Nagarjun, Fanishwar Nath 'Renu' all belonged to the soil of Bihar.
Bihar has the privilege of giving a sound platform to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia- propagator of socialism & Jai Prakash Narayan-the propagator of total revolution. The soil of Bihar has also the honour of conferring the surname of Mahatma to Gandhi. Lord Buddha, Mahavir, Chanakya, Ashok & Shershah Suri like great personalities from the soil of Bihar sacrificed their lives in the service of the nation.
After Independence the contribution of Bihar has been neglected by vested interests and evil efforts of some leaders to project Bihar as a worthless, second grade state. Despite this, Biharis have never been in the groove of narrow- mindedness and have always strived for and contributed to the development of the nation. Bihari Asmita Samman stands for recognition & honour conferred on those personalities whether Biharis or non-Biharis irrespective of their caste, creed, race and religion, who have made valuable contribution in any field-be it Science, Art, Craft, Literature, Social Service, Health, Education, Entertainment, Music and others and thus contributed in the development of the state in particular and the nation in general
